Dear [Name of Recipient]:

I am writing about the bad experience I have had working with your agent [Name of Agent], and to request that you resolve the problem immediately.

[Here, write why you are dissatisfied, i.e.: For the past two months I’ve had no results from [name of Agent] in his search for a suitable buyer for my house, which is being offered at a reasonable price. Each time I checked with [Name of Agent], his response was that there have been no calls about that listing.

My neighbor, a retired gentleman who worked in real estate for many years, told me he wanted to follow a hunch he had about what was going on, and would give me the results in a week. Today, he reported on his “experiment:” A week ago, he called your company and left a voice mail for [Name of Agent] mentioning he was interested in the Internet listing on my house. Getting no call-back, he tried again two days later — with the same result. Yesterday morning, he called again, this time leaving a message that he was interested in a high-end house that had just been listed at a price $200,000 higher than my humble home. He got a call-back two hours later from [Name of Agent].

Clearly, [Name of Agent] is not putting forth any effort to help me sell because his commission is going to be small. I did not expect to find such unprofessional conduct on the part of anyone working for you. Since your company has an excellent reputation, I am willing to try once more, but only if you replace [Name of Agent] with an agent of the highest professional integrity.

I will expect an immediate response from you, but if I don’t hear from you within 10 days I will report this matter to the [Name of Real Estate Authority in your State].

Cordially,

[Your Name]
